Steve Roon

Executive Director

Steve spent his childhood in upstate New York, competing in jumpers and riding in the hunt. He took a hiatus from horses to raise a family before taking up eventing more than 15 years ago. He’s been involved with the Park ever since: competing, doing Horsemasters with the Pony Club, and serving on the Board of Governors, before taking the reins as Executive Director in 2020. He’s got an undergraduate degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Claremont Graduate School. His professional background is sales and marketing management of medical devices and diagnostics in large, multi-national companies and young startups.

Jason Attard

Facilities Manager

Jason grew up in Half Moon Bay and is a Western trainer (West Coast Performance Horses), but did stints as a farrier, hauler, ranch hand, and even heavy equipment operator. He’s shown both English and Western, but most enjoys reining and cow horse competitions. Since 2020, he’s brought his invaluable wealth of experience and thoughtful, can-do attitude to help in myriad aspects of the Park.

Diane Boyle

Office Manager

Diane came on board after her husband snagged a job in the Bay Area as a software engineer, in 2020. She grew up in Springfield, Virginia, got a degree in accounting, and worked at the University of Pennsylvania. She was ready for a different kind of job, so now, she’s the first person you see when you stop by the Park’s main office. She does far more than just accounting, including horse inventory, event planning, show interface, membership management, and website/email blasts.

Amber Birtola

Administrative Assistant

When Amber, a Bay Area native, came to interview at the Park, she was looking for a job that combined her passion for horses (she rides eventers) with administrative skills she’d honed at Apple. She knew right away she’d found a home, and the feeling was mutual! Amber likes that every day is different including interacting with members and boarders, updating the website with the arena and cross-country availability, maintaining the member and donor records, tracking and billing the boarder horses, and helping with show planning.
