Meet Our Team
Steve Roon
Steve spent his childhood in upstate New York, competing in jumpers and riding in the hunt. He took a hiatus from horses to raise a family before taking up eventing more than 15 years ago. He’s been involved with the Park ever since: competing, doing Horsemasters with the Pony Club, and serving on the Board of Governors, before taking the reins as Executive Director in 2020. He’s got an undergraduate degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Claremont Graduate School. His professional background is sales and marketing management of medical devices and diagnostics in large, multi-national companies and young startups.
Executive Director
Jason Attard
Jason grew up in Half Moon Bay and is a Western trainer (West Coast Performance Horses), but did stints as a farrier, hauler, ranch hand, and even heavy equipment operator. He’s shown both English and Western, but most enjoys reining and cow horse competitions. Since 2020, he’s brought his invaluable wealth of experience and thoughtful, can-do attitude to help in myriad aspects of the Park.
Facilities Manager
Diane Boyle
Diane came on board after her husband took a job in the Bay Area as a software engineer, in 2020. She grew up in Springfield, Virginia, got a degree in accounting, and worked at the University of Pennsylvania. She was ready for a different kind of job, so now, she’s the first person you see when you stop by the Park’s main office. She does far more than just accounting, including horse inventory, event planning, show interface, membership management, and website/email blasts.
Office Manager
Madison Colgate
Madison, originally from Woodside, spent much of her childhood riding horses in the scenic landscapes of Half Moon Bay. After earning her degree in Creative Writing, she transitioned into a career focused on guest experience. However, it was during a volunteer stint with horses in Joshua Tree that her childhood passion blossomed into a deep, unwavering commitment. Inspired by this experience, Madison realized her calling to work alongside horses professionally. A passionate writer and animal lover, she is now focused on expanding her knowledge and confidence with horses, while giving back to the community that has always held a special place in her heart. Madison manages a variety of administrative tasks and handles communications with efficiency and enthusiasm.
